I am really liking this social network. However, I can understand why it can be difficult to get into. I did find it quite difficult even while I am still tech-savvy and a computer science myself.

I cannot see the regular elon-verse grasp the minimal knowledge about how this social network works. I see a lot of people giving the analogy of "it works just like e-mail, you have servers, etc".

In this era, there are people that think that Gmail(or hotmail) is the only provider of e-mail of the whole world. I already herd "let me gmail this to you".

It shouldn't be a bad thing that mastodon has mastodon.social and that beginners think that instance is the main one. People will at least start using it and learn the true values of Mastodon in the way.

Some very interesting reflection. The is massive, any Mastodon instance is a small part of it. I am sure you will find members of your tribe. You can also follow twitter accounts and draw them here using beta.birdsite.live
You can build your personalised space in the fediverse. A bit like playing with blocks if you know what I mean.

@arinbasu I know what you mean :)

The problem is to explain this to people that are used to centralized services and a global authority. People cannot join this because mastodon.social is overwhelmed, for example; thinking that it is the central server.

There is an education issue to solve there.

@abde
Yup. 100%, perhaps need to gently direct them to other corners of fediverse.
