@OpenComputeDesign Is this about perception or are people in alaska a bit more relaxed on the topic of dying, thus driving more risky?
@OpenComputeDesign oops, forgot you. Here's the link, hope you enjoy the question:

@CorvidCrone
Do you have an opinion on if that is more a function of the foreseeable ending of the cycle or more of an artifact of the daily pressures, the non-visibility of the effectiveness of our work?
Does the looming end do us in, or are we unhappy because the enrichment in our cage is crap?

@renardboy
But we are all selfish, at least a bit. Eradication of humanity is not what is relevant, the danger to our individual selves is!
@interfluidity @PippiPunkstrumpf @VeroniqueB99 @the_etrain @Alice @CorvidCrone
@renardboy
But what is the trigger? Reasonably sure hopelessness, or more humans held in non-humane ways?

@CorvidCrone It feels nice you got that immediately.
So, if i understand correctly, the answer is "we are pretty fucked, and that leads to people behaving in any way that lets them deal with our fate", meaning it is about general hopelessness for good reason?
@interfluidity
I guess i didn't describe very well what i mean.
I have a feeling like a new kind of "giving up" feeling is there. Not on social media, but pervasive. People doing their job, but not trying to achieve the goal that is fundamental to that job.
@jeffcliff @Hyolobrika @PippiPunkstrumpf @VeroniqueB99 @renardboy @the_etrain @Alice @CorvidCrone
@interfluidity
I don't see any problem of you living up to your standards, but the question was more like "why tf is everyone giving up, is it because we are nearly dead or more like, some not-humane human handling?"
Sorry if that was too graphic, i hope i explained my point in an understandable way.
@jeffcliff @Hyolobrika @PippiPunkstrumpf @VeroniqueB99 @renardboy @the_etrain @Alice @CorvidCrone
Asking myself if there is a new feeling amongst most people, some kind of hopelessnes, or if that was always there?
Do we, generally, perceive the world as more hopeless, and thus shut down, or is the general vibe of giving up more an artifact of how action is compartmentalized, no longer meaningful, thus a slow but steady development?
Haha, living through climate collapse and resurgence of fascism, i still ask myself systemic questions instead of bashing fascists and destroying fossil fuel power plants. Humanity is doomed, i am the showcase.
But hey, while we live, what do you think about new feeling versus slowly advancing compartmentalization? Or am i neglecting a pivotal factor?
@interfluidity @jeffcliff @Hyolobrika @PippiPunkstrumpf @VeroniqueB99 @renardboy @the_etrain @Alice @CorvidCrone
@VeroniqueB99 It was nearly impossible to match the genius of that headline. But i did it - now i just wait for that final release, when i can fart.
@VeroniqueB99
I nearly farted,
nothing gives pleasure,
hope departed,
so i stay, broken-hearted.
@apophis
That may be true, i don't know. What interests me is how these dynamic systems work.
@VeroniqueB99 The line is a societal construct...
(sorry for dissing british people)
@michaelgemar
Wow dude, that's a big ask about the "commercially viable". You'd have to factor in that who owns fossil fuel plants can prolong their usage, and that's commercially more viable.
As everyone knows, the market is populated by rational actors!
@the_etrain Riddle me this: what is more rare, a sales person communicating well with the implementation people, or a sales person that does not drink heavily given the opportunity to do so for free?
@CorvidCrone Hmm, this is getting interesting.
I classed the medical one as "because hurts others", but yeah, i think i was a bit narrow minded there.
Which leads me to the thought that both that case and the new one (if intending to kill the NFL ceo) would be personal, but that personal is a statistics issue. If many are hurt, some very few responding with violence is just a statistical instead of conscious way of selecting who hurts the most people. Like "slap one person, you are likely to get away with it. Slap millions, one will probably kill you".
In the face of riches being generated by scaling a business model, this could be seen as a natural boundary to predatory business models?
@the_etrain Certain type of? I thought there were only those and those others that shake their heads about that but do the same. Maybe i'm just too young and haven't experienced the art form of communication between sales and development/engineering yet?

If i reply but did not favourite your toot: most likely i forgot. I get caught up in talking, i forget.
I generally invite questions. If you look for a clue if it is ok to ask hard questions: this is it. As long as it is in good faith and you want to know wtf i was thinking, go ahead please.
