@namark cool thanks
It is proven! I am absoluutely on Keybase: https://keybase.io/absoluutely/sigchain#c9f3498126722f41e010639f61e2c5306536c9fb18e8a6649d577d0b43ce2d2a0f
@freemo I'm not particularly fond of Greta because I get the impression she feels she's more important than she is, but at least it's bringing climate issues into the public consciousness more
@techreview this title makes it sound a little too "evil villian" and not enough "cool genetic technology"
@Tmo I'd like to interject for a moment that what you are calling "Linux" is just the kernel, and really the operating system should be called "GNU/Linux" /s
All joking aside welcome aboard
What distro are you running atm?
@eff I'm not sure what the solution here is, should Facebook just hold accounts longer or should they make a special exception for these kinds of circumstances? I'm leaning on the latter but I wonder how Facebook would identify those that are in such a situation versus a genuinely inactive account.
@design_RG I've been using mullvad.net for my VPN, but I already use proton for my email so I might give them a go, thanks for the recommendation
(this instance has some great emojis btw)
@design_RG I've not had experience with proton's vpn service, hopefully they'll offer wireguard configs once it's in mainline :)
spotted on https://lobste.rs:
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net-next.git/commit/?id=e7096c131e5161fa3b8e52a650d7719d2857adfd
finally! Wireguard is so much nicer imho than any existing solutions (I'm looking at you OpenVPN)
Is there such a thing as Rate-My-Instance ?
@design_RG I think it could be a useful metric on the various mastodon instance indexes, get a feel for the culture of an instance before making an account.
@freemo @design_RG tusky (an android client) does this afaik but nothing else I've tried, including web does.
@design_RG There is only one sure fire way to ensure a cat doesnt destroy a christmas tree: set up a tree with the explicit intent that you want the cat to destroy it, at that point the cat will promptly ignore its existance :)
Unreadable rant, no quality assurance on grammar 🤷
@design_RG I can understand liking the design, it's definitely distinctive, I think the element that ruins it for me is the roof, the peak just seems very abrupt. But I guess that's the point.

we were teased with essentially a Ford Raptor with Tesla improvements to bring it into the 21st Century
just look at this render, I know which I'd buy if I could actually afford one...
also what are the drag coefficients of these two? Car design has been converging on an optimal design since we realised a box on wheels wasn't very efficient, I'm all for Tesla bucking trends but isn't this taking it a tad too far?
