I suddenly remembered that there was once a roller-disco themed Buck Rogers remake series that featured a small robot with a circumcised penis for a head, voiced by Mel Blanc, which carried an AI apparently made out of a hiker's canteen around its neck.

It ran on major US network TV for two or three seasons.

I'm reminded of what someone said about the Frampton/Bee-Gees "Sgt Pepper" movie: with enough cocaine, anything can seem like a good idea.
