@hyde I wrote a bash function I call gcd which allows cd relative to the current git repo root. There is also bash completion for it. Very handy at times. I’m on my phone rn but you can see in my GitHub dotfiles repo same user name.
@EyalL @AstraKernel @edward
Honestly it was not even close to an issue. Mainly because we set tabs to be visible in our editors (vscode, vim, and emacs) and code review tools (gerrit I think it was). And we were all pretty good developers. If you have poor tooling or developers I can see where it might be a problem 🤷
@EyalL @AstraKernel @edward I've seen it done with one company I worked for, it worked. There was a good code review culture there, so I think that will be required.
Bah, rustfmt.toml: hard_tabs=true, use them only for indent, and then everyone can be happy.
For all you non-native English speakers out there, “read” is pronounced like “lead”, and “read” is pronounced like “lead”.
@DavidDvorkin Did you expect some other result?
@deech No clue about the elephant but this one is talking about recent converts being the loudest. Which I’ve seen from religious conversions. Takes a few years before they settle down.
It seems like a decent thing for someone to do, why do you find it puzzling or tedious? I guess it's mildly passive aggressive, but also useful, so 🤷♂️
1) 6 2) no 3) M-[2-9] 4) tab-line + config 5) not yet
I have things set up so the most recent buffer is always the left-most tab, and the tabs are sorted by most recent usage, up to 6 shown. Makes it quick to switch among several recent buffers. I usually track this in my head for 2-4 buffers, the tabs are a crutch for more than this or when I am not sure.
Once upon a time in Guatemala, the CIA hired a cocky American actor and two radio DJs to launch a revolution and oust a president. Their playbook is being used against the U.S. right now.

My second session trying out #meow did not go well. However I found out something important.
Unlike #evil meow uses the built-in #emacs keybindings in its implementation (instead of binding to commands). So if I rebind C-b and C-f, then h and l don't work as expected but now move up and down by a page.
There's actually a note about it in the sources, and there's apparently a reason, but now I have to find new keybindings for anything that collides with emacs built-in keybindings. So that includes a number of #vim bindings that I'd rather have than the built-in bindings.
Oh well, I guess I'll have to adapt more than expected to use meow.
oof, I meant hjkl. And there are other bindings that are similar, it will all help I'm sure.
