lololol someone just called me (and apparently everyone on QOTO) a racist for saying our instance's policy is to treat all races and nationality by the exact same standard... I must have slept a lot longer than I realized because when I went to sleep the definition of racism was WAY different."
Apparently this is what he posted as "proof" that me and QOTO are racist fascists. You seriously can't make this shit up. No one has ever even reported a single one of our members for racism.
I think I don't understand the context by which this phrase is racist.
I am not from an English speaking country. I don't think that in my country, Italy, "It's ok to be white" could ever mean something racist.
I mean, what can I possibly do if my skin is white-ish?
Problem would just arise with the opposite phrase, "is not ok to be black/yellow/white" or whatever.
@arteteco @freemo its a traditional component of white nationalist messaging, that's *why* it is regarded as a big deal
they switched over to promoting this phrase about a month after Charlottesville I believe. its the same crowd that trades pinochet helicopter memes, this was the next 'oh not really offensive' thing they tried after the A-OK hand gesture.
