Oftentimes I have no clue what the people are talking about, and now in this covid times is so hard to get a grip on what the mainstream topics of conversation are, as I have no mainstream social and are, internet-wise, a bit on the weird side in my country.

So I thought: how can I check what the most trending topics of conversation are?

so far I thought about checking google searches for my country and see what keywords had a spike in the past 2-3 weeks, or get some new rss feed.

Anyone had the same problem and solve it without much effort?

@arteteco I mainly look at an RSS feed of a news website that I trust.

@arteteco
Keyword spikes in my country are overwhelmingly soccer related.

My solution to being disconnected from the mainstream is the realization that I don't give a fuck what mainstream people are talking about as long as they don't bother me. I'd rather use the time and mental bandwidth to follow along youtube art tutorials and find more obscure metal bands.

Anyway, skimmed knowledge of whatever is hot right now usually fails to convince the people who actually care, so why bother?

@arteteco

my suggestion is find the most trustful news media (like BBC news) in your country and see what happened everyday. i don't know if that is most trending topics you mentioned. hope this can help :blobcat_sip:
