For those watching from afar, the Texas GOP has a complete lock on power in the state, but with vast amounts of wealth at play, big egos, bigger aspirations, and no clear leader, the factions are breaking apart.
The various players know what shady corrupt crap their opponents have been up to, so I imagine we’ll be hearing some… stories as this unfolds.
Want to help the bees?
1. Stop using pesticides. This includes "green" pesticides and mosquito misters.
2. Plant a diversity of flowers, if you have space.
3. If you have land, leave some bare patches, as most native bees are soil-nesters.
4. Leave dead trees and plants to stand for the wood and twig-nesting species.
5. Vote against politiicians who are insensitive to environmental concerns. You know the ones. Out with them.
6. Vote for politicians who expand protected areas.
Fully 294 pages into the 316-page #Durham review and then it just concedes that the predication of Cross Fire Hurricane was validly predicated because of the low standard required, as was independently confirmed by OIG, and that it could have been opened under any of several different justifications ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A new study looks back into history to assess human impacts on the habitat of Asian #elephants and finds sharp declines starting several centuries ago.
Habitat loss has increasingly driven Asian elephants, like these foraging at a garbage dump in Sri Lanka, into human areas.

@MitchW Probably a hawk; osprey are fish-eaters.
@JamesGleick The news media - particularly right-wing news media - is in the business of making people afraid of literally everything. Republican politicians rely on it too.
There's really no other explanation for the actions and attitudes of millions of Americans. Arming themselves to the teeth; afraid of anything "woke"; believing that American cities are war zones; etc.
@MitchW Rescue places will take these birds in, if there's one nearby.
It's honestly astounding how Elon Musk took over a healthy, functioning, respected, and successful company, laid off most of its workforce, fundamentally changed the user experience for the worse, and completely decimated their verification system, thereby eroding any trust that anyone had in their integrity, in the span of six short months. Claiming that badges were given arbitrarily, and then taking away existing ones, just to give them to those that pay a subscription fee, or to whoever you feel like.
@KlasfeldReports Never seen a sportsball or entertainment event followed here the way people used to do it on Twitter. But people do talk about news as it happens, although usually in a slower, more thoughtful, less snarky way.
To mark the beginning of England’s nightingale season, we revisit our conversation with acclaimed folk singer, conservationist, and song collector Sam Lee, who steps into the forest each spring to sing with these beloved birds. Stating the obvious, but at least she's stating it:
"Former Rep. #LizCheney said Thursday that GOP firebrand Rep. #MarjorieTaylorGreene should not have a security clearance after Greene defended the Air National Guardsman suspected of leaking a trove of classified documents."
