What is the smallest component (through-hole or surface mount) that you'll spend time to pick up after dropping?

For me, anything smaller than a 1206 (imperial) is considered gone forever.

The Analog Discovery 3 is Digilent's latest all-in-one tool. It follows the AD2 with some improvements. Here is an overview and some measurements you can make with either.

When designing PCBs, you should avoid the acid trap.

An acid trap is a trace design that causes people to pointlessly warn you about acid traps, explain them, and then say "but don't worry, they are not an issue anymore."

That's the trap.

@sydheresy Make sure you get the BNC adapter. Using the flying leads / Arduino sticks is only fun when probing a breadboard.

@48kRAM @sydheresy It has been a long time since I used their PC software, so I don't entirely remember what it did.

I just remember doing something, getting the screenshot auto-updating, and then finding that SCPI command.

OWON's software, on the other hand, can query the screenshot, but it re-draws the waveform in a native PC UI/grid.

It's equally terrible to work with.

@48kRAM @sydheresy I don't think it is doing just the waveform data. Since that would be the PC is re-creating the scope screen, which means it would have to query the scope's entire setup to re-create the screenshot with controls and such.

The simpler solution would be for the software to use the :DISP:DATA? SCPI command to get a bitmap/screenshot instead.

I am happy to share that the BeagleBoard.org Foundation has launched a new RISC-V dev board today: the BeagleV Ahead powered by the T-Head TH1520 SoC (4x C910 cores) beaglev-ahead.org/announce #RISCV #BeagleBoard #BeagleV

@joeycastillo walked through how Sensor Watch maximizes the perphials on a SAM L22 to eliminate the need for external ICs. (Also, TIL about the configurable logic unit—I can’t wait to play with those.) @crowdsupply oddlyspecificobjects.com/produ

Here’s the main menu of the web interface. It’s not public yet, but you’ll get access if you buy a uSDR. ;)

Andrew demonstrated uSDR and its associated web interface at ⁦‪@crowdsupply‬⁩ . It’s a m.2 form factor SDR. The web interface is very impressive. Check out its funding campaign: crowdsupply.com/wavelet-lab/us

At @crowdsupply , @aleksorsist updated everyone on ThunderScope. It’s a high-speed scope that strreams samples over USB-C/Gen3/2.2/Thunderbolt/WhateverItIsCalledToday. Great progress and fantastic presentation.

@48kRAM Yeah. Thing is, I even read an old comment on the tool's page about not supporting NTSC.

But because the screen was fine, I assumed it was updated.

Thankfully RJ sent me some math to prove it.

Facepalm. It's because Quertuoso calculates the values based on PAL, and I'm using an NTSC machine.

Does anyone know if it is normal for a C64 to produce sharp notes? This should be A4 @ 440 Hz, but it is high. (All the notes are sharp.)

This is generated with an ArmSID and Qwertuoso.
