I feel like I need to find an #instance on Mastodon where folks in my local timeline would generally want to see most/all of my posts. But I feel like the folks on the science/astronomy/STEM instance aren’t going to want to see a lot of leftist/socialist/anti-capitalism stuff and vice versa. And then there’s the writing and poetry and photography and…etc.
The general instances seem so…big and don’t have that concentration of specialized posting I enjoy in the local feed. I know ppl say that what instance you’re on doesn’t matter that much, but I don’t want to feel like I’m putting out a bunch of stuff that others on my instance think is spammy. Yes it is totally acceptable and probably the best way to categorize your life. In @clyminghawk example, one could be on an instance that deals with science topics while being on another instance that deals with political topics.
@barefootstache @tietsche that’s probably my best solution. I’m kind of allergic to compartmentalization but I need to get over myself, I guess. Lol
