I can see I really started to loose my marbles around christmas time... nice..

Rolling release distributions have no anniversaries, and that works, therefore we should no longer be celebrating annual holidays. The ceremony just gets in the way of "business as usual" which I find to be a much more reliable and hence enjoyable state of being.

Sometimes, I feel like I’ve avoided a decade of stress by not jumping on the framework bandwagon

My work involves very little to almost no web dev (some months, zero) and I’m always amazed at how much effort people love to expend to get text to a browser

alright, guess what time it is. it's SCIENCE TIME

I've recently come across this wonderful worldbuilding tool called Tectonics.js. It simulates tectonic movement over millions of years... and allows you to look at climate and terrain height, and it all is animated at various geological speeds up to a million years per second. Smash together a couple of continents and then break them apart again and you're basically guaranteed to end up with something more interesting than whatever Earthclone you were going to be using in your next novel or campaign. Granted, it'll need a bit of touching up with regards to the coasts, but the climate, mountains, and wind patterns are already dealt with!

This is a really fun way of watching how plates interact on a sphere, and is to my knowledge, the only tectonic simulation out there for general recreational use besides GPlates.

Someone explain Pixelfed to me. Do I need another account on a PF instance? Can I use my existing masto account with a PF client? What's the generally accepted way to use it?
