Reading a 2013 paper about modelling the wax moth (Galleria mellonella) for Klebsiella infection studies and I'm just wondering how the seed of such an idea is sown in one's mind. I'm sure it requires a lot of reading and interpreting and discussing it with several people, but the process itself, say, of drawing inferences from all such things and finally reaching a desired set of objectives to be pursued, is just so fascinating.

Of course, it involves long mundane periods where you feel like nothing is ever going to work out and that might take a toll on anyone. But to finally see something work, even if for a bit, and then some more, and try to fit it all together. Ugh. So good.

Am I being naive here? I don't know. Maybe this fascination will die over time. Maybe it will get stronger. You never know with such things, do you?

@biologyshyology It is indeed interesting, how an idea evolves and ends up being a complete package, and when you look it makes perfect sense. Just the way it should be, how did we not see it before.

That is probably a good indication you found some truth. Takes time to build the small insight into the finished, clean product. But it's like building anything, start with a need or idea, jot notes, think, draw inferences or sketches.

Until it's finished, other people might not glimpse what is being built. Easier done individually, although have a friend of colleague to bounce ideas might help.

@design_RG Exactly! To trace it back through its pattern and see how it eventually fits is such a satisfying feeling.

True that others might not get it while it's still a work in progress but many a times you yourself don't know where it might end up going. The serendipity of it finally coming to fruition when I am not expecting anything at all adds much more delight, at least for me personally.

@biologyshyology Great fun, to discover something or create something from scratch. :thumbsup_hmn_h2:
