Don't really know how I stumbled upon this gem but that's a fucking lost meme. However, the meme hilariousness aside, I couldn't help but notice how articulate and respectful the diallogue between these people is, specially given the fact that during those times, the racial tensions were infinitely more evident that nowadays. Sure, the debate was heated at times, but you can't expect it not to be when you mix people with such divergent views. This kind of diallogue wouldn't be possible to bring to the public as it would cause outrage and disbelief. We are so polarised nowadays. Imagine saying "marrying a white man is like a suicide because they eat pork and are dirty" or "negroes operate on a much more primitive level" in public lol.
Also, notice how they are aware of their own prejudices, whereas nowadays, everyone thinks they are on the peak of objectivity and everyone else is irrational for not sharing their ideologicsl clarity. People would rather defend the flaws of their ideology by digging a rabbit hole of inconsistencies rather than admitting their biases.
Shout-out to the Nigerian dude who seems very well-read and articulate and the South African girl even though she is kind of arrogant. I highly doubt both of their factual statementd about S. African history, but I don't have enough knowledge about the topic so I wouldn't take a position. Lol at the "lost child" of Israel whom "is not negro, it's just his face was burnt by the sun" ahahah

In case you missed it, Google Play recently removed the @Tusky Mastodon app without proper explanation.
Tusky is one of the best Android Mastodon apps, with nothing controversial in it at all. It's quite disturbing that Google can and does act like this.
An alternative and much better way of getting Tusky onto your Android device is by using the independent FOSS app store @fdroidorg

Can someone think of an example of a scientific theory that got superseded by a better one and then got re-incorporated into scientific consensus again?
In my field, I can name only one such theory: Lamarckism - the notion that an organism can pass on to its offspring characteristics that the parent organism acquired through use or disuse during its lifetime.
It became superseded by Darwinian notion of evolution but since discovery of epigenetics, it became more and more obvious that things are not nearly as simple and cracking the genetic code of the individual would tell only a fraction of information about it's genetic expression.
All the genes' expression are influenced by epigenetics which is in part influenced by the lifestyle of the progenitors.
