@louis@emacs.ch @offset___cyan@emacs.ch it's just too easy to kick down on old guys who have cancer to get some cheap internet points.

maybe he's just blind with rage after the socialist paradise he thought the EU is country after country votes the equivalent of trump into power.

luckily there are enough alternatives for source code management :) cgit, gitlab, gitea, fossil, ... i'd always go selfhosted now, preferably not with something crazy microservice like sourcehut ;)

Never heard of this dude. Pulled him up.

What a horse's ass.

Do I like everything Rick Stallman has said? No. I am not a member of the cult of Stallman. But do I think he deserves cancer or to be kicked while he's down? Also no!

@kilroy_was_here @louis@emacs.ch @offset___cyan@emacs.ch stallmans mistake is that he says/writes whatever comes to his mind :)

that said, stallman has had an immeasureable positive impact on many peoples lives. the only wrong deed i know of is saying unpopular things. one just can not listen to these things.

Speaking truth even though it is unpopular might be one of the greatest deeds in my opinion. Parroting popular opinions gets you upvotes/likes/boosts/whatever, and as such is easy. The unpopular opinions get you hate, people trying to ruin your life, and similar events. It takes courage to speak those, and it really shows which people are good at heart, and which ones just pretend.
