@icedquinn i finished maniac mansion after a year or two not playing the save when it suddenly struck me to put the meteor in the trunk of the flying edsel :)

@tatzelbrumm @baldengineer @48kRAM

Stallman has, at least from what I've seen, been the right amount of considerate and dismissive. He doesnt play into the games, but he seems to acknowledge the valid ethical concerns.

That said, its also possible he did something really shitty and I just missed it. So if there is a specific example of something shitty he did that warrants this sort of response I will happily review it and consider it to see if it changes my opinion (probably should have been part of this post to be honest).

But yea until someone actually provides some valid justification for this sort of reaction I hear this sort of stuff and I will just double down my support for stallman as a victim of a mob with pitchforks.

Actually I have a recent personal account with Drew Devault being really insincere.

On 25th of November he asked on fedi for an explanation for Richard Stallman's "problematic behavior" in relation to neurodiversity.

As an autism diagnosed person I chimed in with my thoughts and we had (what I felt like was) a long and respectful discussion about the topic where Drew (pretended?) he agreed to a some of my arguments.

Later, that same day he published the article "Neurodivergence and accountability in free software".
https://drewdevault.com/2024/09/25/2024-09-25-Neurodivergence-and-accountability-in-free-software.html

The end result, an article that contains only cherrypicked quotes from people in the same thread who fully agree with Drew Devault.

Any viewpoint and arguments from me as a respectful and serious participant in this same thread are not represented in the article whatsoever!

Go see for yourself the difference in tone used towards me in this thread versus the tone and arguments presented in the actual article.

Emacs of Vim?

@DrewNaylor @SuperDicq it's, at best, silly.

it's the equivalent of insulting someone for an uncomfortable opinion proceeding to stick fingers into the ears and go "lalala can't hear you".

based would be "i get into a shit mood reading this, time to mute".

3 years on fedi and my sense of humor has become shitposting about trashy japanese computer games, petrol huffing jokes, and flip flopping between being a furry and not wanting to be a furry

@cjd i think there is no quick fix solution. germany is pretty liberal in distributing money to parents, still there aren't enough children.

@cjd i think the main problem isn't money.

the main problem is decades of brainwashing that kids are too annoying. that one has to settle first. that one has to "live life" first, glorifying bullshit consumption, booze, weed and being depressed. the messaging that big, multigenerational familiy households are annoying.

it's pretty easy to not think about kids when you take enough s(sri)oma.
