@ThatCrazyDude @Sophistifunk i was pretty surprised how well it burns even fresh stuff without forcing air into it, just by the chimney effect and the hot embers at the bottom.

i really get in the mood to burn stuff xD

Yea, I'm no fan of Putin, BUT I call bullshit on Linus's explanation and stance. This is hypocrisy at its best too. There have been talks of sanctions, but no sanctions to the best of my knowledge in the software development category have actually gone through in the United States that would force free software developers to exclude Russians. Claiming all folks who think you're wrong Russian trolls is just intellectually dishonest. While I am critical of socialism, I'll defend RMS when he's right, and when Linus is wrong I'm going to say it. RMS was right when he crafted the GNU GPL in such a way that it EXCLUDED politics outside of free software development. This has been the reason "open source" folks, "free software" folks, serial killers (governments), and activists of all kinds have all been able to work together to benefit mankind. To now come in and say "what did you expect", in response to excluding Russians I say, I expected you to object to Putin's invasion of another country- but not to undermine the very foundations of FOSS software development. No one is saying you should accept every patch from every Russian developer, but you should have a technical reason for doing so. It doesn't even take a genius to come up with a technical explanation for removing Russian developers en mass, but some silly hypocritical act like this is below pathetic. What's next, inserting backdoors because you want to help Ukraine spy on some subset of Linux users?

twitter and tumblrites are kind of like those puritan folk who went to the netherlands to escape "religious persecution" and then got upset because the netherlands was too chill to be proselytized and got mad again about wanting to find somewhere they could get to be the persecutors

this depressingly mirrors how they showed up and seized fedi, too.

@begsby alter hp business laserjet der am netzwerk hängt ist bis jetzt das solideste was ich gefunden habe.

@ThatCrazyDude @Sophistifunk i have an oil barrel with holes in the sides and once it burns, it burns. just have to start it with something dry, then it burns almost everything.

one evening it even reignited itself xD

@begsby @linuxnews keinen millimeter spielraum. hände gebunden. befehlsnotstand!

Jedesmal wenn ein #CDU ler Kommunist sagt, verlernt eine Mutter das Kochen.

@skyblond i do get the finns and that they don't want to be occupied by russia yet again, but how they live it out is a bit misguided.

guess that's what etatism brings you, on both sides.

it's really sad that this bullshit arrived in free software. usually hackers were better than this.

That list is great but it will never happen, Linus is high on his
western supremacy complex.
Most of the anger (including mine) comes from people who have just
realized what kind of a person Linus is.

He has exposed his lack of morals and inability of self reflection
with the trolls comment.
He has exposed his ignorance, coming from his state media
brainwashing, with the media comment.
He has exposed his ignorance, arrogance and blatant Russophobia with
his "I'm Finish" comment, as if
Finland has any high moral ground when it comes to WWII (for the
historically ignorant: Finnish "concentration camps").

And this is not over, there are plenty of other countries and entities
on the official USA enemies list.
The real majority of the world, all of us outside the USA and their
vassal states, their so called "free world" (one maintainer
actually used that blatant display of American supremacy in a commit
removing Huawei maintainers) are looking at this
with sadness and anger.
The Cold War 2.0 has came to the Linux world and as in the first one,
the Iron curtain has been erected
by those that claim moral high ground with their false values of
freedom, openes, merit etc.

I love Fedi so much. A terrible, wonderful, crippled miracle. I appreciate you all. Yes, even you.
