# lentils with basil

## ingredients

- 250g lentils
- 2 large cloves of garlic in fine dice
- 1 large red onion in fine dice
- ~4 cm peeled ginger, ground
- 1 tea spoon turmeric
- 1 table spoon died basil
- 750 ml water
- 1 tea spoon salt
- 1 table spoon oil or butter

## preparation

soak lentils over night.

put a pot on medium heat, add the onions without oil/fat. let them roast for a few minutes. add oil, garlic, ginger, turmeric and basil. let roast until it smells aromatic, around 2 minutes.

drain soaked lentils and add them to the pot, again let things cook for around two minutes. add the water and salt, increase heat, cook until lentils are soft and it isn't soupy but more like a stew.

"What's our current heading?"
"Vexed question, sir. Best not to think about it, sir."

ökotest so:

> Butter ist eine Klimasau
>

After 18 months and 3200 posts, I’ve decided to move to a new account @cnx. Although I have no complain about NixNet’s admins, they are no longer really active on this instance. This is not goodbye, I still use other NixNet services though and hang around the community instant messaging channels. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank @amolith and @manton for running everything here :ablobcatheart:

A battery filled with algae is somehow managing to power this computer for months: newscientist.com/article/23195

No-one's quite sure what's going on. Possibly the algae is serving as the medium catalyzing the interaction between the anode and cathode in the battery.

Except research shows the anode isn't degrading, which suggests ...

... the *algae* is producing the electrons.

Some thoughts on this in my blog post here, item 6: clivethompson.medium.com/lavaf

I have requested two new CVE IDs for flaws to be revealed in sync with our pending next curl release.

BREAKING: Web browser Firefox can be used to access "sickening" illegal content online, prominent information security professionals demand its removal from app stores until Mozilla is willing to moderate "the WWW".

@sophia_sardegna the world has no the way "it should be". there's one good saying: the world is free from your views on it. the idea is that everybody has his own "ideal world" in his imagination and people will never come to agreement which world is better. so it's basically useless to try to do this. Fediverse gave to people a tool for communication. it's very versatile and flexible tool: many platforms, many clients. many interfaces. so everyone can choose to his taste or even write his own realization. it's open source and it's absolutely free for everyone who wants to develop[ something. so Fediverse is just the reflection of the real world where people are separated in different circles and groups and they communicate with each other in the way they prefer.
@sophia_sardegna it cannot be "censored" because users can choose any servers and run their own instances. and Mastodon is just a little part of a big Fediverse community which at the moment contains not less than 15000 servers (my count may be not exact, the real number may be more).

@iron_bug

My instance is on the list... Quite an honor.

I have been operating ~18 months, and have had 3 reports. And they got the reply; "If you think the posts break the law, then please contact the authorities alternatively raise a civil suit against the user."

The speech-sensitive snowflakes were;

mastodon.online
mastodon.social
yiff.life

@sophia_sardegna

@niclas @iron_bug

There is a "secret group" consisting of mainly German, left-wing & socialist-oriented Mastodon admins (instance operators) who specify who, ergo which instance in the Fediverse is to be blocked.

I know someone who has access to this group.

Admins or instance operators who do not follow the prescribed block list and other rules are branded (with their instance).

This is fascism in its purest form.
