In meiner Jugend haben wir uns die Namen unserer Lieblingsbands auf die Turnschuhe geschrieben und Buttons an der Jeansjacke getragen. Dass heute der Impfstatus neben dem Profilnamen deklariert wird, finde ich sehr irritierend und befremdlich. In was für einer Zeit sind wir gelandet 😳.

I hear new people noting how chill, tolerant, and pleasant Mastodon is.

Mastodon isn’t chill or tolerant or pleasant. It’s a tool… a foundation on which to create and maintain a culture.

It’s those who’ve been on Mastodon, run servers, and served as admins who did the hard work and created the culture you now enjoy.

Now, it’s your turn. The only way it stays tolerant and chill is by us doing the work to keep it that way.

A good example of, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

@bonifartius @nt5tm butter made without driver and on marginal land (like here in Switzerland) is definitely carbon neutral if top soil persists.

Import soy and corn driven is a carbon source and thus unsustainable. Top soil over there gone - inputs gone.

@bonifartius @nt5tm What they'll never tell you about the methane is that healthy soil fixes it, transfers it into feed, which cows then eat and process. It's a self-solving issue that is only a problem because these retards look at forests and go "yeah let's grow soybeans & canola here."

Most entomologists refer to bees as vegetarian wasps, as bees evolved from carnivorous wasps about 120 million years ago.

But did you know that there exist species of Vegetarian Wasps called Pollen Wasps - Pic 1 (Wikipedia), and Carnivorous Bees called Carrion Bees - Pic 2 (Ricardo Ayala)?

The wasps don't have pollen carrying hairs so they eat the pollen and regurgitate it at the nest.

The bees have special gut bacteria to digest meat.
