Today was the worst shift I've ever had in the ambulance service.

The entire system has collapsed. We're no longer practicing emergency medicine. We're just desperately trying to put out fires & triage the sickest patients but it's just not enough.

Sunak last entry to the Commons this year. Cavalcade vehicles and motorbikes for…. 50 yards.

The Secretary of State deliberately misunderstood my question and couldn’t give me any answer as to how my constituents in Bath will know whether their water is safe.

The Government, only last week, scrapped the vital indicator to measure water health.

The Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast is the largest hospital in Northern Ireland.

COVID-19 in China: Current Situation and Downstream effects: 🧵

1/ From the outset, it is very important to recognise that a humanitarian catastrophe is currently unfolding in China. Analysis of this situation is not incompatible with recognising the horror of the situation.

Top work by the Network Rail team that discovered this hairline crack in a rail last night.
This is precisely the type of incident that could be missed if Network Rail cut their scheduled maintenance tasks by 50%

Tory minister Grant Shapps tries to pretend the govt is always happy to sit down and talk to the unions, but when the presenter points out the govt refuses to negotiate with the nurses on pay, Shapps has to try and justify that.

A pupil asked if he could spend the Christmas holidays in school because his home is always 'freezing cold' and he can't get to sleep. There are going to be children worrying about this type of thing in virtually every school in the country.

Jarring to be intubating Covid pneumonia again. In a triple vaccinated patient, 60s-ish person no less.
It was a failure on many levels:
- no public awareness the threat still exists
- Antivirals weren't offered when diagnosed a week ago
- Did not get/wasn't aware of boosters

RT @TrainDriverIan1
Regardless of what train operators say, the service they offer you between now and the 3rd January, is the service they have recruited enough staff to run.

If you take away the good will, favours and non contractual hours which staff volunteer....

This is the service you get.

When the Tories sold off our electricity in 1991, 5 of the ‘Big 6’ ended up in the hands of the French, German, Spanish and Swiss. Now these companies charge British consumers up to 5 times European prices in order to subsidise electric back home.

RT @Taj_Ali1
"If nurses aren't happy they can leave."

That's exactly the problem. 1 in 9 nurses left the NHS last year. Many go abroad or retrain in other fields. Only 21% of nurses say there are enough staff to do their job properly. Unsafe staffing levels harm us all. Pay them their worth.

The 2008 stock market crash versus today. What do we think?

On average men live to 45, and women to just 43, on our streets. Donate now and you could make tonight someone’s last night on the streets. Donate now.
