@TomatoLabyrinth A screen reader is a software that translates everything that the computer outputs to the screen into speech and/or Braille for blind people. I've been blind all my life, so I sort of need one to function at all. The Java issue comes from the fact that the interfaces for screen readers to be able to talk to the GUIs created with it don't have the necessary components out of the box. For whatever reason, this is seemingly only a problem with desktop applications written in Java, not web applications.

@TomatoLabyrinth interesting choices of languages. I'd be careful with Java, though because if you're not careful. Not everyone potentially using your application can natively use it. They have issues with screen readers. I would watch out for

just had an interesting conversation with dell today. Looks like Rand's issue might actually be a non issue, honestly. His audio and his USB both seem to be working. Though I fear that I may have sullied my relationship with them by accident via sort of arguing with a rep who was just trying to inform. Here's why I hate being called "m'am". Whenever I get that, I see a cobra behind that fake dose of fake courtesy.
