Well ... I'm an idiot. It appears I hadn't enabled the proper widgets when configuring super Socializer on stormlighttech.org. No wonder the like and share functionality wasn't working. Will reinstall. @heateor@twitter.com

@mjog@octodon.social I don't see regulation solving that problem, though I do see the possibility for a set of guidelines.

@mjog@octodon.social all depends on what distribution you're using. I kid you not. I've seen some of them that intentionally strip those features out. I have one currently on one of my laptops.

Not to mention, that survey I just had to fill out to watch a video?

Just a quick observation. I wonder whether does this? (probably not.) but has anyone noticed that each time you close YouTube and then open it again, the volume gets kicked back to like a hundred percent even if you turn it down?

@Surasanji Same here, I think. I'm more of a technologist than anything. But that sounds awesome! And he definitely seems really awesome, as well.

@Surasanji this isn't you guys. This is just how things are read. I've seen it on all instances I've ever looked at. It's how the clients are; they could be better in the accessibility department, though, not everyone thinks in terms of that. Most people think that accessible also can't be visually pleasing, as if they are mutually exclusive. I hate to plug my own network, but, in the coming weeks, follow the accessibility category on StormlightTech.org (on another note, would be nice if markdown was supported by default with all Mastodon instances.) There will be lots of posts dealing with accessibility up there. And if you guys need a hand? I can probably find some ruby devs within the wider community (I'm on discord servers everywhere).

@Surasanji Good call? I wonder whether or not I shouldn't think about that? Then again, I'm going to be stuck with the default character limit … that's either until I learn Ruby, or somebody on my team does.

@Surasanji Ah. I have to get used to how screen readers read those, then. Still learning; I've only been up here a couple months, and I think I'm too used to Twitter? LOL

@Surasanji I was trying to figure out why there was a warning. Thanks, though.

@Surasanji There's an image here, though not quite sure what it is? Is there a description I'm missing?

@mjog@octodon.social I'll say. I don't like Linux desktops much either, but for a different reason. I have an issue with some of their speech APIs (legally, and nearly totally blind, in fact, I might as well be totally blind for the amount of print I can read, which is zero.) this causes me to put the whole Linux thing into a different prospective.

My profile's a bit more filled out, as you all can see. I do apologize. Some of the sites are down at the moment, but in light of , I think it will be easier to start propogating stuff up here from there. Not sure about my personal blog. Want to use rather than , which essentially means that I have to keep Twitter to keep the cross posts coming. I'm fine with that … for now.

@cambridgeport90 @Gargron Same we have always done business for most of human history...with people you know.

You won't need targeted advertising when you and your community are no different.

Local. Networked.

The huge money to be had is in the transaction, moving money attracts money.

Good money to be had solving your own goals as probably someone else in your community has same issue and willing to develop transactional relationship for solution.

@cambridgeport90 @Gargron the same way they did business before social media existed. Not everywhere has to be a space for brands. Really, it doesn’t. If you’re selling something even vaguely worthwhile and legitimate, people will tell each other. That’s the nicest possible way I can say it.

the problem with Pocket is that I find myself saving a ton of shit but not actually reading.
