@homo_particeps Hello, a group of us came together to make this update. We have all been busy the past year, some of the original writers have left. So it has been very difficult for us to get these out. Especially for one or two people :(

We are working towards more frequent updates as discussed with our community at FOSDEM 2024 this year.

Support of development highly depends on our community, less development may mean a less successful product. Sometimes we only make a batch to see how much interest it will gain from the community.

@dubstar_04 It is unfortunate, but software progress is dependent on community contributions, not Pine Store.

The original Pinetab had a single batch, due to Covid-19 it was decided that a new PT would be released due to parts pricing and missing parts we couldn't source.

The Pinetab though is still a feature complete device, along with the Pinebook and Pinebook Pro :)

@deedend Not much has happened concerning the device unfortunately.

@popolon it's still dated hardware (2016). That was 6 years ago!

@bradlinder I guess they've had a long enough time to cook up something. I kept hearing a microkernel based operating system being thrown around a couple years ago in light of (surely that won't be true?).

@popolon I think trying it on a faster and more up to date phone will help the speed. The PinePhone is slow at everything.

Trying to wrap my head around porting linux to android phones is proving to be a very slow process.

Today we're celebrating the 26th anniversary of GNOME πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰
Thank you to all our outstanding contributors and community members for helping make the #GNOME project what it is today!

Got tired of tiles not being moveable or even able to have four small ones next to each other in a square and I decided to start integrating TilesGrid. Currently it's really finicky and just barely works even when it jitters all over the place (this is a seizure hazard right now), so it's nowhere near ready to be merged yet. You can check it out in the "tilesgrid-integration" branch if you want. Here's a screenshot so far, with more details in the reply:

My KDE Plasma Image for the #PineTabV is now available for testing. Still lots to fix up but this has full GPU desktop acceleration, and feels responsive, even running from a SD card. Check wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PineTab-v for details. #pine64 #riscv @PINE64 @pine64eu

KDE Telemetry collects data on you, if you opt-in, and it has a clear description of what is collected, why, what the retention policy is and how you can switch it back off.

It's off by default, and distributors of binaries (e.g. distro's) can disable it entirely at compile time.

That's how it should be (policy is here: community.kde.org/Policies/Tel )

I got #bananui 🍌 , the GUI for #LinuxMobile on feature phones, to work together with #wroomd on a #Nokia2780 with #postmarketOS. It's now almost possible to use it as an actual phone! πŸ“ž

WIP pmaports fork: gitlab.com/affenull2345/pmapor (currently missing audio for voice calls and kernel packaging)
