Excessive CW use! #MastodonMeta

I just had this go by on my timeline:
----------------------------------------------

Just muted @ceoln for excessive CW use.

(CW = content warning)
----------------------------------------------
which I thought was rather quirky and endearing. This was while I was posting about my Parker House Rolls with a CW of "food", and some AiArt stuff under "AIArt" or something like that.

I tend to use CWs quite often, as sort of a title really, even if I have no specific reason to think anyone's trying to avoid the content (although I can definitely imagine someone being tired of AIArt discourse, and not warning to see food pictures for whatever reason, and etc).

Are there lots of people who are displeased by lots of CWs? One can always ask the client to always expand them if it comes to that. Maybe they want CWs only for things that... they consider to need a CW? But how would I know what that is?

I expect that I will continue to do this, and just think fondly of the person who muted me because of it; but if someone points out a reason it might actually be a bad idea, I might do it less.

(We should have a CW for CWs!!! Woot!)

@ceoln
It's never bothered me

That is a very... odd reason to block/mute someone. Honestly, it makes no sense. I looked at this person's profile and they use CWs too sometimes. Just.... confusion ???

I have CWs open by default anyway so it literally doesn't matter to me. If you don't have it open be default, it just means you have to click. Are they annoyed because they have to click??? I don't get it.
