Decided to try out a straight razor type safety razor today... love it so much decided to switch. This stanrd model is nice but figured id get the nicer adjustable one.

Also just upgraded to the super sharp blade as opposed to the normal mild blades people use... this will be fun, or painful ;)

@freemo feather or kai blades 😅 ? I hope you have any splash at hand to treat the wounds afterward, if it is your first try with this one 😜

@certainlytwice I actually thought i did a great job, felt smooth and everything... then i notice im bleeding :)

These are from Vikings Blade, ill try the ones you suggest

@freemo they are the sharpest in the world so proceed with great care 😇 if you are into and need a good relief afterward, have a look at Le Père Lucien aftershaves. Only natural and high quality ingredients and oils. No synthetic compounds, 100 % biodegradable. Regarding the quality the price is amazing. And I do not work for them 😂

@certainlytwice

I never really bothered with aftershave.. not really sure what the functional purpose is once the shaving is done?

Follow

@freemo its primary role is to disinfect (not a bad idea when I do unexpected moves 😅) especially for the ones containing alcohol, but also to protect and hydrate the skin (glycerin). A last benefit is the scent 😍. The "traditionnel" aftershave from the brand I did mention also contain something like a dozen of natural oils selected by a pharmacian for their properties on skin : disinfection (sauge, rosemary, thyme), wound healing (sauge, tea tree), regeneration (lavender), etc etc. 1/ 2
