@cody_is_typing I stick to the mobile web interface. Not sure why people need apps, it works great as-is. Just pin it to the home screen.

@cody_is_typing Mm, don't really have that many glitches on my screen. I use the Vivaldi mobile browser, by the way, if that matters any bit. Only when adding emoticons to my toots the position of the thread I'm in will jump to the top. But fair is fair, that happens too on the desktop. ;)

You could look into Fedilab or Tusky instead if you're using Android?

@cody_is_typing I should've checked where you're posting from first. ๐Ÿ˜… Looks like you're using iOS, no experience with that. But I know there ought to be a few good iOS apps around as well. Better than stock anyway.

@trinsec over the years Iโ€™ve purchased two separate iOS clients for other instances that Iโ€™ve tried out. One of the devs shut down the project and the app of course is no longer available. The other app that Iโ€™m still running, Tootle, crashes constantly on notification clicks and refresh attempts.

@cody_is_typing Yeah, I really can't help much with this since I don't use iOS. I only know that there are apparently a few very good iOS apps around.

Also, keep in mind that some features of those apps might not work 100% on Qoto since we're on a modified Mastodon instance. For example, you can follow hashtags here but you'd need to do so via the settings page of the website, because we had implemented it before standard Mastodon added this feature. So our method differs. (And our method has a lot more options too, I don't like how they did theirs)

I can recommend checking out the settings page and see what options are all available. A fair amount won't be available on other servers (and might not be usable via the app). Check the About Page ( qoto.org/about/more ) for more information on what extra features got added.

This is kinda the catch about Qoto if you want to use 3rd party software.

@cody_is_typing Not sure about cute. And I'm a moderator here. The real admin would be Freemo.

@trinsec I figured out what was causing the โ€œglitchingโ€. Itโ€™s the images. If you are scrolling through and your digit (thumb/finger) touches an image, it attempts to zoom the image. The screen tap almost causes it to go into a zoom in/out loop thus causing the flicker.

@cody_is_typing That's weird. I can only think of it being caused by the browser, how it renders things.

Try a different browser? Which one is this? Safari I presume? I use Vivaldi, there seems to be a beta out for that on iOS. I feel anything but Safari might work. (Yes, my opinion of Apple's products isn't high. ๐Ÿ˜… )

@trinsec thatโ€™s ok bubba. If I didnโ€™t rely so much on their health app/heart monitoring integration with my health care provider, I would have never moved away from Android quite honestly. Itโ€™s this watch that has that has helped me so much you know. It detects when Iโ€™m going into a fib if I have a bout of SVT. I have a heart condition called Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome that I was born with. The watch was recommended to me by my electrophysiologist. I do miss being on Android.

@cody_is_typing Fair enough! It's just that I cannot really help much there. Maybe you can ask the iOS community about which apps to use with the proper hashtags if you want better answers.

You could check out the MastodonIOS hashtag itself. There seems to be a bunch listed that you might be able to work with.
