@yet_another_neighbor@mastodon.social @fedora My requirement would be that the entire system should be an optional package. Then opt-in would mean installing the package, and opt-out would mean removing the package (even if it is installed by default).

@freemo @Theraviranjankr Perhaps you meant to say, "There is no such thing as an absolute position that is true." While I still disagree, that would at least be an interesting self-contradiction along the lines of "this statement is false", as opposed to having itself as an obvious counter example.

@freemo @Theraviranjankr "There is no such thing as an absolute position." <- an absolute position, exhibit 1.

@freemo That disagreement is how science advances into new knowledge. Historically, the majority has been wrong/incomplete by current theories.

The issue I have is not with the majority opinion, but with censoring the scientists with a minority opinion.

@sdgathman @freemo Actually, I think that is 50 "caliber" - which is really hard to find a definition for. However, it seems to be .50 in. I.e. 127mm instead of 50mm - more than twice as big.

Wait until #Google execs realize that they can save even more money by shutting down 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Greetings Programs!! It's been a bit, but tonight we're going to work on, you guessed it, @pidgin 3.0. Alpha 1!! Come on by!! twitch.tv/rw_grim/

@freemo I've heard the term "elephant gun" many times. What caliber is required for those giant mammals? (Elephant, Rhino, etc)

@freemo The squirrel is an exaggeration. A pellet gun with copper pellets was sufficient for squirrels. At least Northern VA squirrels. If squirrels in Alaska are anything like their mosquitos . . .

0.22" - For if you are attacked by a squierrel.

9mm - If you are attacked by a human

0.45 ACP - If you are attacked by a human in knight's armor

10mm - If you are attacked by a bear

0.50 BMG - If you are attacked by a bear in knights armor.

@Pat @freemo I just turn my head to the left to use the little box on the left.

@elduvelle Those terms are meaningless anymore. Ask about more specific issues. E.g. Do you support proxy wars? (No) Do you support Universal Basic Income? (Don't Mind) Do you support Medicare for All? (No) Do you support WHO for new World Dictator? (No)

@customdesigned Neat. Just keep in mind that this is not a proper reply to the toot you quoted. For that you should use the normal reply button. They won't get notified (unless you add a mention to them in your quote), and the threading gets broken up. The quote is more meant to put that post in the spotlight with you adding commentary.

Sadly, I am unlikely to be able to make it, even online.

What is a "retoot" on Mastodon? I keep seeing it mentioned, but there doesn't seem to be such an option.
