'Two weeks after the last dose, antibodies to P. falciparum circumsporozoite protein and PfSPZ were higher in protected versus unprotected vaccinees. A three-dose regimen of PfSPZ Vaccine demonstrated safety and efficacy against malaria infection in malaria-experienced adults.'

'Molecular glue degraders are defined as the compounds leading targeted protein degradation (TPD) by creating novel ligase-substrate interactions. Here, we identified AK59 as a novel molecular glue degrader for STING.'

Public health in 21st century America.

"Mississippi’s woes are an acute example of a larger public health failure that is reprised nearly every time a major health threat grabs headlines. The problem, experts say, is that Congress starves state and local health agencies of cash for even basic needs in quiet times."

"We children of the Boomers went into the workplace with a double expectation – we wanted a proper occupation, and we wanted it to be a vocation. And once again, science seemed to fit the bill."

New posting! This asks whether in have evolved from a hobby, to a , to a profession...and maybe now into a job (and how that's probably a good thing).

Funnily, when I first conceived of this posting (quite a way back) I thought it would be a negative one about how people don't care enough any more, but that has almost completely turned around - I now think it's a good thing if people are stepping back. A good /life_balance isn't something to whine about - we should be insisting on it.

Anyhows, read the posting and see what you think... ;-)

The Bibliographical Society of America is seeking to build an endowment to support the Dorothy Porter Wesley Fellowship. The Fellowship of $3,000 is awarded each year to a Black individual for research on any topic. Thanks to a gift from Lisa Unger Baskin, the fund is halfway to its goal of $85,000, but it needs our help to make it the rest of the way. bibsocamer.org/support-bsa/por

For the "every cell is an immune cell" files:

'In this Essay, we present fibroblasts as not only the builders and renovators of tissue environments but also the rheostat cells for immune circuits. Although they perform location-specific functions, they do not have badges of fixed identity'

"Know less" seems generous:

'The Big Con of the book’s title is not a crime; it’s a confidence trick. Consultancies and outsourcers, Mazzucato argues, know less than they claim, cost more than they seem to, and — over the long term — prevent the public sector developing in-house capabilities.'

Measuring antibodies in the murine central nervous system.

"In our study, we standardized a procedure and statistical analysis for a highly sensitive ELISA of a mouse Ab in mouse (C57BL/6J) CNS tissue."
