Minor spoilers on Barbie movie, US politics

Watching the Barbie movie again, it struck me how Ken's trip to "the real world" and bringing that toxic ideology back to Barbieland is like Trump and his ilk seeing the Russian kleptocracy and thinking "So cool!"

If you watched yesterday and fancied a dabble into there are loads of recitals round the country, often free or just a donation welcome. They usually provide a leaflet about the pieces, the composer and the organist, as well as a history of the building and the organ.

As @annalapwood said, this is an instrument that plays throughout the entire building. I think of it as an air-powered synthesiser.

It's one thing to hear via speakers or headphones, but it's something else when the huge 32ft pipes of somewhere like Temple Church (shown here) rattle you to the core.

It is, thanks all the same. That's not the reason for my visit to Boots the Chemist today.

I suspect the truth of this story is a regrettable drunken fumble at the Zoo Christmas party between Ms Giraffe and Mr Antelope.

Speculation about TV portrayal of Letby

Random thought while reading the news about child killer being sentenced: Gemma Whelan will surely play Lucy Letby when it comes to the inevitable TV dramatisation of this murderer. Uncanny similarity and she's an incredible actress.

Didn't expect UCL to enter a marketing deal with Norton AntiVirus.

In all seriousness, some on to such a crowd would be useful. I have a tendency to overexplain, overanalyse and overshare. And there are people who will not pick up their own dog poo, and seem to think that the inflation rises won't accept the business they're part of.

Rainbow on a high cloud. Looked like a stag just before this.

Here's this evening's dinner options at Potters. There's a dessert of the day, (Churros), or a range of chilled gateux etc.

Oh well, another post. Potters offer a weekend break, midweek, or a full week. On the interlull days there are no activities so we usually hang around the pool, or beach (did I mention they have a private beach?) or visit the Pleasure Beach or Circus at .
Still have lunch, preselected. So we're sitting with a young family we've met before, also one of the few staying over for the full week.
And here's my lunch: Halloumi Salad.

Later on this evening I will sing a 60s duet with my father-in-law, in front of 800 fellow holidaymakers. This is the stage and video wall, viewed from the control box.

You will have gathered this is not my day job but it has become part of the annual holiday ritual.

Ducks visiting this morning. They enjoyed the sunflower seeds but disappointed that they couldn't eat my fingers.

Brief visit to and a quick spin round the Fitzwilliam Museum, a collection of pottery and artefacts from around the world. Was too busy looking at 1000 year old Chinese and Korean bowls that look like you could buy now in a high-end homeward shop.

When kiddo ran out of spoons, we grabbed some lunch then headed to the of , an excellent collection and interesting displays, that should be in a much more prominent location than at the back of an industrial estate.

UK technology sector is a huge part of our economy, and yet we can't give this organisation the proper support? For shame. Any big companies that have made their profits around Silicon Roundabout could lob some pocket change here.

Quick visit with the folks and kiddo to the in . A small place full of classic frames by British cartoonists and , from early Gilray to The Guardian's Steve Bell.
Here, Ella Baron has created a graphic reportage on the plight of women in .
There's also a section on Norman Thelwell, who satirised factory farming trends back in the 50s and 60s.
Not far from Oxford Circus on Wells St.

Near at Regent's Place, a big screen has been set up so you can watch the Women's World Cup. Bring sunscreen though, as it's exposed even at 10am! Nearest Underground: Warren St or Great Portland St.

School disco time. Year 6 leavers going for Bon Jovi, Joan Jett, Ghostbusters, alongside Galantis, Harry Styles, 90s house...and Macarena. I've trained them well.

What prompted my interest in sharing this with you lovely people, however, is the catalogue: for most UK entries, there are names and addresses listed of the contributors. Some buildings have completely changed since then, but if you're the resident of (e.g.) 28 Tarbert Road, , you can have this in your hallway! I think that would be cool. [3/3 end]
