Yesterday in true Franco-German fashion, the two countries celebrated 60 years of Elysée Treaty. If I haven't posted anything about it, it's because as a Franco-German myself, I'm truly disappointed with how the relation is going - for years now. Let me tell you why. /1

1/ Mobilised Russians from Siberia are upset that their commanders lied to them about where they would be serving, say they are living in appalling conditions with little equipment, and appeal for relief after suffering heavy losses on the front line.

In the video, provided to the 'Baikal People' Telegram channel by a relative, the Novosibirsk men say they were sent "in close proximity to the front line without any training, equipment or support." ⬇️

A lot is going on. Learning to pace ourselves, prioritise care for the self and others and not let the whirlwind overwhelm us also takes bandwidth; mental and emotional labour. I am typing this, for instance, to pace myself, pause for a sec and create a bit of distance.

I've just discovered that there's a petition on the #UK government petitions website to remove #LGBT content from the curriculum, effectively resurrecting the horrendous Section 28 from the 1980s.

There is also a counter-petition. As of this morning, the remove petition has over 178,000 signatures, the counter-petition has just over 2,500 signatures.

From what I can see, a lot of the people I follow on Twitter with large followings seem to have bounced back from Mastodon to Twitter. I suspect they don't see the same kind of reach here.
