Lol, yep.
In the 90's, Microsoft was the incarnation of Evil. A ruthless and domineering corporation, I was pissed at them frequently.
Times change. I remember when I saw the very first mention of a new startup, a new fanged search engine called this strange name, Google.
Search was good, webpage was minimal and fast. What a nice relief from the absurd bloated Yahoo search page of the time!
And this new kid company had a nice motto, Do Not Be Evil.
Which, 20 years later, is what they turned into with a vengeance.
Microsoft, on the other hand, had big changes in management. Evil guy Steve Ballmer is long gone, good riddance.
And I consider them a cool company, today. Wish I had bought some shares 4 years ago!
I dont see google as particularly evil personally. Microsoft on the other hand...

I dont see world domination (being large and powerful) is itself evil. Only what you do with that power.
Generally they obey laws and give generously to open-source.
Microsoft I cant say that about, they break the laws often. hide backdoors in code, and what little they do in open-source is generally manipulative and against the intended purpose of open source (usually to undermine it).
So for me at least ill take google over microsoft anyday.

Poor Susi got hijacked into a major discussion, lol.
At times like these, I really miss features that we had and enjoyed for many years in Forums.
As a mod, I would just do a few clicks and split into a new thread, give it exposure on Forum listing and not annoy the poor user, lol.
Alas, we don't have that here, sadly.
I will be going out soon and won't be able to continue this relevant discussion - maybe we can start a new thread in the Local Feed? That is an interesting theme for many people.
Sorry for the hit and run, appointment.

Oh, no -- there is nothing for you t obe sorry, Susi.
We were having a nice conversation, which expanded into other topics.
I felt sorry for you since you would get a ton of notifications if we kept the "Who's the Greatest, Evilest Corporation in Tech?" going.
Facebook had not even been mentioned, lol.... 😜
BTW -- that cat picture you sent me, so lovely. was quite successful in my Twitter post of it.
Never had so many Likes and Retweets on one of my posts.
