Last train out of Town before quarantine restrictions.

An interesting story from an Italian Associated Press reporter who was in Padua, Northern Italy Saturday.

And the news of the upcoming quarantine for the whole region leaked in the press - just in time for her to catch the last train out of town before midnight.

@design_RG Honestly we are past the point quarantines of areas (rather than individuals) is going to help.

We should be diverting all that wasted money to directly helping the sick and to developing a vaccine. Wasting it on containment efforts is pointless at this point.

@freemo
or quarantine individual people in affected areas who are at risk of dying from the disease until hospitals can react appropriatly.

I've heard of several cases in Germany where covid suspects weren't even tested upon their own requests, so the cases of unknown infected has to be out there in larger number by now. Flu symptom patients are also only considered to have covid when theres an obvious patient zero.

@Halbeard

Yea for sure, individual quarantines make perfect sense. But geographic ones, not so much.
