We are getting an annoying gang creating new accounts here simply to post ONE single post, a toot with a link to PIRATED video streams.
I have noticed the pattern, reported them as soon as I saw, and now have been DEKETING these m.f. as soon as I see it, n questions asked.
Please keep an eye out and REPORT any such account. Thank you!! 😜

@design_RG I've been trying to reduce this by also blacklisting the emails. It seems these accounts have been using throw-away emails, so i black list the email before suspending. As they run out of emails the attempts should get less frequent. Just make sure you check that the email goes to a domain that is clearly not a actual email service.
If you just delete the account and dont blacklist the email they will just keep creating it. Since I've been doing this it appears the frequency of the accounts is going down.

@design_RG yea, though i find they are rare enough and go away if they realize its too much trouble.
@design_RG the linuxrocks peertube has also seen an increase in pirated uploads. Maybe those groups are targeting the fediverse now specifically
@Halbeard yes, I think so -- it's easy for them to do, and they only use each account once, make a post and use another one. Pretty annoying.
