@design_RG people here are clapping every Thursday and then in the same minute talking face to face with their neighbours and such

it's hypocritical, the best thing they could do is just abide by social distancing. and if you don't go out you feel judged for not clapping lol. I'm a healthcare worker lol
@Ox @design_RG How long are people expected to exercise vigilance against a health crisis they aren't in any way experiencing? Like what percentage of people even know somebody that's sick? I'll bet it's less than 10%. People aren't built to exist in crisis mode for months on end, especially when there's very little external reinforcement that there even is a crisis.
@Ox @design_RG I know 0 people who have had it, personally.
@Ox @design_RG I'm just trying to make some sense of other people's ambivalence to you.
@yuri @design_RG I understand why people don't care . but as a healthcare worker I do care and I would rather people just were careful instead of being stupid for a weekly display of "wow I care so much"
@Ox @design_RG I feel you. Not a day has passed that I haven't wanted to punch somebody in the throat over this shit. I didn't even realize how common it is for men to "coincidentally" get physically close to me until feeling the heat of somebody else's body or their fucking breath on my neck started to mean I might be getting infected with this shit.
@yuri @design_RG lol I shouldn't laugh but the phrasing, it's too true

@Ox @yuri @design_RG I’d imagine it depends on the population density of your social circle. You live in or near a major city, don’t you?

@niggaflamebuttholeaids @design_RG @yuri our neighbour across the road was bedridden with it and now she's out every Thursday clapping like hell. judging ppl on Facebook for not clapping.

they show all the people congregating and clapping on TV every Thursday

basically if you don't do it people think you're an asshole

@Ox @design_RG @yuri Most of my folks and family either live in the country or they don’t actually interact with the big city on a regular basis. I know one person who’s had it, and 3 including older family friends and asociates.

@Ox Thank you for being there in a time of need, at personal risk, everyday, Ox.

It means a lot. Sincere thank you.
