I agree that it would be good to have the option, a Mastodon default control, available to anyone wanting to erase their footprint.

The odd user who users a clearly Irreversible option, and proceeds after warnings -- that person can take it as a lesson to reflect better before acting. This is likely very uncommon I imagine.
