The discourse forum is only 5 users away from being out of boot strap mode.. That means the next 5 users who signup get an automatic (free) promotion to the next user level. After that new users will have to earn it.

@freemo Yes, come and get in, Perks are free but stock is exhausting soon. 😜

@freemo I am hoping with the announcements of the new Pinafore Forum, we could get people joining in to read, and hopefully sign up to participate too.

Koyu just sent me a message this morning, she made a contribution to the Pinafore Git site, which I foudn awesome (allowing for connection to Whitelisted instances, like hers atm).

@design_RG Nice.. I wonder, does pinafore have a support forum elsewhere?

I think the best bet to get activity on the pinafore forum would be if the project leaders endorse it as a support channel. They may want to consider moving their source code to our gitlab (we offer the ultimate subscription to all our users which normally costs 100$ per user per month).

@freemo No, I have not seen a support or discussion forum for Pinafore anywhere. Nolan has been seeing my posts, I also posted at his home instance and he has boosted the various announcements. I think he's happy, as most authors don't get much recognition for their work.

He's got his own project Git -- github.com/nolanlawson/pinafor

So I think he might be ok. I do believe if we get more people participating this will be recognized as a unique resource.

@freemo We could mention him, but I try to keep that at a minimum, so I don't disturb him with tons of notifications. Maybe you can send a DM -- @ nolan @ toot.cafe is the address.

@nolan

Hey, if your interested you might want to check out this thread. We can offer you a gitlab instance with an ultimate license (usually worth 100$ per user per month) and a free CI runner with any features you may need. Even has the option to keep your github mirrored off the gitlab instance if you want to keep things in two places at once.

Just thought I'd offer.

@design_RG

@design_RG we offer some pretty nice benefits over github (like free CI runners, a free private docker registery, stuff like that). One nice thing is if he does decide to move to our gitlab its very easy to do (a few clicks) and he can even make it so the github instance and the gitlab instance stay in sync so he doesnt have to take down the github instance.

Just saying. it might be worth offering considering the value add.
