@dichotomiker @benjaminhollon I had no idea! I do (strongly) prefer the light theme, but I'm going to try using the dark version because of the science. For the record, I'm highly myopic.
@madamscientist @dichotomiker Don't know about myopia, but a couple people with astigmatisms have posted saying that that makes light themes the only viable option, and I'm wondering if that's why I find dark themes uncomfortable, since I've got a moderate astigmatism that's developed over the last few years.
@madamscientist @dichotomiker Here's the article I got sent:

@benjaminhollon @madamscientist ok it should be an option to the user
@benjaminhollon @madamscientist The firefox extension Dark Reader could be helpful. It should be able to turn dark themed sites into light themed ones.
@benjaminhollon @dichotomiker Got it, thanks.
@dichotomiker Someone else's explanation here actually helped me understand why I think dark themes are so hard for me to use; they had astigmatism which made it hard to read dark themes, and I've had a mild astigmatism that's been ramping up over the last few years, so I think it might just be aggravation from that. Light on dark is harder to read.
