@iankronquist @siguza Not really, I don’t remember having anything from Microsoft being pushed

@metabolist hope you get better :(

Why not making it FOSS?, so not only one, but many can take the mantle, of course you have to select a maintainer but this might open the app to more possibilities

@probono shouldn’t close and quit be in a menu with the app name?

@probono yes, that also happens to me I thought I was the only one

@bugaevc Glad you’re back! I was worried for a sec.

Welcome and I can’t wait to see your cool work :)

@hayden yes, i noticed the same, I was thinking on solutions and retrieving all that data might be very expensive.

However since it’s FOSS and it’s gaining popularity I hope someone comes up with an idea on how to workaround the issue

@hayden yeah this is a big problem, I hope a workaround is made as Mastodon becomes more popular

Of course! On Windows is called portable applications, now the question is how to make one

Does anybody know where I can find an Appimage or .app like distribution but for Microsoft Windows

An Incredible Day In Internet History

It started with the Twitter lockout. 10,000 new users per hour. A QUARTER MILLION people migrated to Mastodon in one day. The servers struggled. Remarkably, admins all over the world built up capacity in real time. New users were patient. The system held.

It's running better now. There will be more hard days ahead, but people powered social media has arrived.

I have to thank the amazing WSLg for making it possible to develop a GUI app on WSL without caring where it was running, truly and amazing and transparent experience :)

Working on a Solitaire game for a uni project.

Almost done.

However, since we have to use Allegro 5, I cannot stress how hard it is to install Allegro 5 on Windows, WSL saved me and allowed me to develop without problems :)

Now that is almost done, I finally got it building under Windows, but the game is incredibly slow when compared to the performance of WSL, it might be due to all the static libraries and winpthreads requirement

I’ll try to get it compiling with native MSCV (since currently I am using a patched up MinGW toolchain) to see if that increases the performance.

I’ll also have to get it compiled for macOS since my professor uses a Mac. The wonders of cross platform

@kirb yeah, I never understood why Microsoft didn’t add an if to check if the system was being virtualized, setting up Windows 11 on QEMU is still super inconvenient.
