The part where lots of fire comes out must point towards the ground if you want to go to space today. xkcd.com/1133/

My family is watching the mandolorian and all I can wonder is if the actors toss the muppet around in between takes like a football. I would.

With all the money Fox is paying Dominion, I'm afraid they'll run out of hush money to cover up the misdeeds of any perverts they may still have on staff.

Finally beginning to grok some gestalts that I’ve been struggling with for a long time. Need to continue slow walking my brain until it permanently clicks but it’ll be pretty gratifying if I can pull it all together.

New Order’s Blue Monday except the snare hit is replaced by someone saying the word “schvontz”

TBH, this seems worse than having the road blocked by climate activists for a few minutes.

This thread is pretty long but we also explain the whole story in a TikTok video: tiktok.com/@popular.info/video

1. Tennessee House Speaker @CSexton25@twitter.com led the charge to expel two elected members for violating "rules of decorum."

But a Popular Information investigation has uncovered evidence Sexton is violating a more fundamental rule: THE STATE CONSTITUTION

@cstross Tesla reminds me so much of places like Uber and Theranos—a company whose culture is an extension of the leader's own deeply immoral nature.

There's a cadre of guys on every tech forum who insist it's irrational/emotional to judge Tesla because Musk is awful. When a company is dominated by the CEO's cult of personality, I think it's very rational. Tesla *is* Musk. If Musk has no ethics/decency, it's irrational to assume that Tesla could. The results speak for themselves.

Can anyone explain to me how TikTok is more dangerous to national security than Google/YouTube and Facebook? Or why the absence of moderation is unacceptable for children on TikTok yet not members of congress on Twitter? If I’m the one assessing the risks to society, I’m getting different results.

Sure would be nice if people stopped threatening to blow up the building I work in.

@trinsec It’s a service that Mozilla acquired years ago to serve as bookmark management/sharing/save for later thing. Fairly useful and innocuous and plenty easy to ignore if you don’t use it. BUT, there was the potential for up selling the service and neck beards have been screaming about it ever since.

Man. Whenever I read an article that mentions Firefox, people come out of the wood work to complain about pocket or the addons button or whatever other interface tweak that happened back around version 57 or whatever and I can’t help but think these are some of the biggest babies on the internet. Just absolute fucking cry babies about the most trivial shit. We’re all gonna get stuck using Chrome/ium but good news! No more pocket button that you didn’t use! You’re doing great. Thanks for helping.

TIL that there's something called "Silicon Valley Bank" at the same moment that I learned that every assumption I would have made about something called that would have turned out to be correct.

Screw sleep tracking apps, I track my sleep using DNS logs 😅

I got an old PC rig sitting around. On the one hand, It's legit old and it probably doesn't make a ton of sense to dump money into it. On the other, it does have an Xeon X5675 in there so that machine still kinda rips, and all it would need is a CPU fan and cheap discrete graphics card to be almost good as new. Difficult choices ahead.

This song has been wearing out drummers for like 15 years at this point and still no studio version of it exists so far as I know. Love it.
