Today we should also remember those who fought to get medicine for their love ones. At a time when nobody cared about the gays.

CW: discussion of rape

The horror of what’s happened to #BrittanyHiggins is why millions of us don’t try to prosecute our rapists.

Yet every time alleged rapists go free, it emboldens violent men to continue to rape as they know they’ll almost certainly get away with it.

Nothing ever fucking changes.

If rail workers do end up engaging in a wildcat or otherwise illegal strike, PLEASE remember that strikes are meant to be disruptive. If you see someone talking about the rail strike and how it's having such a huge impact, say things like "Yeah, it's crazy how much of our economy relies on them. That's why they deserve good health care."

Don't give in to anti-labour rhetoric. Combat false narratives. Solidarity Forever.

Amazon is about to be publicly shamed for its union busting. About damn time.

A judge ordered Amazon managers at JFK8 to publicly distribute and read out a 30-page ruling detailing worker rights at the facility.

If managers refuse, Amazon could be held in contempt of court.

I really am tired of the "product of the time" excuse. Whatever marginalization also existed in that time. They were able to see and want and demand their full humanity.
Yet why isn't that the barometer? It's always the bigoted and racist worldview that gets a weighted importance

We'll stand by this statement every time. If a company is offering "military-grade data protection” or “military-grade encryption," just walk on by.

When you hear media blaming the striking rail workers for being the ones that threatened the economy, that's not a neutral reporting. The railroad companies were willing to threaten the economy because they wanted to be able to fire people for calling in sick or going to the doctor. Painting the strikers as the irresponsible ones is propaganda.

One of my key issues is that I believe people need to express what is going on inside to those around them. This is a great big world and not everyone knows what everyone else is going through. They may never imagine what you are going through without you telling them. There are so many things that most people just will never experience. But they do have the capacity to empathise if someone explains it to them.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but an economy controlled by a handful of oligarchs isn't a "free market."

I’ve been saying this for years.

Railroad workers contract, call to action, twitter link

Courtney Milan tweeted the thread below, with the screenshot, let me give you the call to action: contact your Senators and ask them to pass the bill with 15 or the largest number of sick days/year they can. We do *not* want sick people handling essential infrastructure, we need to avoid a tragedy or long term destruction of the railroad.

Being forced to carry a pregnancy to term is wrong, even if you provide afterwards for the child to be adopted, or give the mother support to or anything after the birth, because being forced to carry a pregnancy to term is wrong in the first place.

Forced birth is involuntary servitude. I’ve been asked many times why I think Republicans want to control people’s bodies or why they won’t support basic needs like healthcare or livable wages. It’s because this is their desired outcome. More poverty is a bonus for them.
