@magicaltrout the same happens on my on my Apple Watch but when Argentina played the semi finals :ablobpanic:

Yesterday our agency was ranked as the 4th best SMB company in Argentina for millennials to work.

Among the things Great Place to Work evaluates for this ranking, they see:
- Autonomy
- Trust
- Training
- Wellness

This is part of a bigger ranking where ADBOT (the agency) was ranked as the 7th best SMB place to work in Argentina (up from 8th from last year).

Just a quick question. Does it make any sense to have a self hosted mastodon server? Pro / Cons?

And also I enjoy micro mobility. I have 3 electric Scooters (Xiaomi M365, Speedway 5 and Currus Panther) that I use as my daily vehicule for commuting. I love tech in general, space exploration and cooking. Father of 2. Play tennis and padel. Only watch soccer during World Cup.

Intro time. I'm from Argentina. 40 years old. Doing since I was 19, so half my life there. Started in deRemate.com, an ebay like site bought then by MercadoLibre (one of our local unicorns). Then worked in Digital Ventures doing . That company was bought by Fox Latin American Channels. Worked there as Online Marketing Manager for LATAM and then in 2011 co-founded ADBOT, a digital agency where we provide SEO and Performance campaigns for clientes all around the world. I love photography.

I have a mesh network at home with a 1000Mb connection from my local ISP. I could only get 120-150Mb bandwidth in other rooms because of WiFi and walls. I bought a pair of MOCA adapters and back hauled all the mesh routers through the coaxial installation in my house and now I get full bandwidth in all the house. Best investment ever. Totally worth it. Planning to write an article soon (in Spanish)

@emiliano There's plenty of uninteresting stuff, but its what you make of it I think, treat it as a learning exercise. The most boring are generally where I get frustrated being foreign and I'm tasked with working on something where I'm hobbled by the fact I'm not cleared to see all the data or whatever.

Most interesting was a few years ago where I ported some of the old Voyager spacecraft ground data systems from Sun OS to "modern" Go systems in AWS.

@magicaltrout totally. Wow. Voyager! That thing is still alive. Do you have access to live data or something like that. That is something that I find fascinating. I even have the news paper when pathfinder arrived to mars

Hi all,

Software developer, Linux user, and keyboard geek here.

I just signed up and I'm trying out Mastodon.

Just looking to see how it goes.

Hi @magicaltrout. Interesting job you have. What is the most interesting thing you do / did and what the most boring one?

@trinsec thanks. Luckily just the fibula got broken but no ligament compromised. So no surgery. Should be walking again in 30-40 days. Hopefully before that. :blobfingerscrossed:

Also, and non related, I got hit by a car yesterday. It crushed my ankle. Be careful in the streets. People are driving like crazy. Specially in Buenos Aires

Started doing an internal training for all the people that start working at ADBOT (my agency). I’m seriously thinking in making some of those trainings open for others.
