Well, my film news sites have failed me! Completely by accident on Instagram, I've discovered that last Thursday, a brand new 4K (at least, another user says 8K) print of the original Tron (1982) was screened at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Director Steven Lisberger was in attendance.

It's not just a new scan of the negatives. This has been fully restored with colour correction, HDR, Atmos the works.

I've stolen the video and it's from a phone but you get the idea.
