Developer of Classic Sport Driving is looking for #Linux Beta testers, check out their post in our Forum: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/forum/topic/6170/ (any dev is free to post for testers in our forum)
@northernlights I think it's a fairly common view that they started poorly, rose to a high
Haven't seen this on the Fediverse yet: a blog post about spelunking through the Canon Cat's #forth operating system and persuading it to run arbitrary code from floppy disk.

#CanonCat #retrocomputing
Got to practice my #bluffball twice today. Fairly sure managed a pass both times.
@VModifiedMind epic superpower
Two updates to this thread.
Update 1: In this thread I complain Mozilla does not provide specific technical details about this feature. It turns out there *is* a document with the technical details, on Github:
https://github.com/mozilla/explainers/tree/main/ppa-experiment
It also explains (https://wiki.mozilla.org/Origin_Trials) which sites are participating in the feature.
I am linking this document because I believe the first five words do more to discredit what Mozilla is doing here than anything I could say:
"Mozilla is working with Meta"
@jim sportsball of some sort. Seems important?
@Jaffa ahh, its your fault :-)
This accidentally-published-early Tusky feature is called "Default reply privacy". It lets you automatically restrict the privacy of your replies. In the version it shipped in, if you reply to a public post, the visibility of your reply will automatically be set to "unlisted" (aka "quiet public"). This might have already impacted some of your posts. We are sorry about this.
If you want to restore the old behavior, go into Account Preferences and set the option in the screenshot below to Public:
@kjhealy does it use *Morse*?!?
@bsletten At scale, there's no exodus at all. The growth in our services is nuts and will be for the foreseeable future. For every departure, there's 3 more entrants. at a minimum.
That said, those who have migrated off WERE likely poor choices in the first place -- and they learned it. It's not like every engineering solution makes business sense to everyone.
So they're right to go!!!! And, for example, there's a ton of smaller, vastly cheaper clouds out there, too....
@VModifiedMind hovering with a hangover is totally fine!
@mcc @simon_brooke monthly releases are one thing
@simon_brooke @mcc it's essentially impossible to replicate the Mozilla build infrastructure and performance unless you are a major distro. Even Ubuntu have given up and switched to a Mozilla-provided build (via Snap)
this only happened because linux was carefully designed to have two clipboards and whenever you paste something it calculates which clipboard you want and gives you the other one instead
