See, too much freedom. Governments forcing organizations to hire people to quell speech on their applications.

I don't know anything about this person. I don't really know anything about Telegram other than that's where Hamas militants post messages. I guess that's the problem. The wrong people are speaking.

@Unixbigot let's hope they don't opt to nuke the site from orbit, just to be sure

“And when we disagree with the politics of another nation we?…”

“Interfere”

“No, we…”

“ALRIGHT SWEETHEARTS ROLE PLAY SESSION IS OVER. WE ARE GETTING DEPLOYED IMMEDIATELY. ANOTHER FINE DAY IN THE PLANETARY COUNSELLING CORPS!”

“What’s the mission sarge? Is this gonna be a stand-up group session or another bug hunt?”

“This is the real thing, Intern. Defacto planetary empire gone to pot. Nuclear weapons. Regulatory capture. Science denialism. End-stage capitalism. They’re shooting kids in schools”

“Fuck I hate these baby killer planets!”

“Secure that shit, Counsellor, we ship out for this Planet Dirt in ninety minutes”

Boeing is remarkable because it's a nearly perfect exemplar of the outcomes of our current economy, whether on society, the planet, or even companies themselves.

Boeing used to be well known for how well it treated its employees. It used to have tons of "lifers" who worked there until they retired. It used to make a respectable profit, and enjoyed almost universal praise for its product quality.

Then, modern capitalist goons showed up.

NASA briefing just started.
The decision (as expected) - it will be SpaceX Dragon, next February.
Starliner will return uncrewed.

UKRAINE INTEL THREAD/9

Understand how horribly close the defeat was. Russia - Putin - planned a HUGE invasion force to fly as surprise to Ukraine's capital, seize the President, force him to surrender - or shoot him, and put their puppet in charge - to surrender

THAT was the plan for the 4 hr war

Hey video game developers:

I want to do a video game showcase program on our new cable network.

This might take the form of an esports style tournament or it might take the form of just having someone play the game for twenty minutes and talk about it.

I'd need to get clearance for the materials in the game so that we can broadcast it. Small but growing in person audience, plus medium sized and growing web audience.

Does this sound like your cup of tea? Reach out to have your game included! (Here is fine, or via email.)

Boosts appreciated.

Can we help them grow and reach for the stars?

@mikemathia My neighbours complained about me. They said, very politely: yes, I could have all the sex I want, naturally, that was my private affair, no pun intended, even every morning around 6.30am, really, they were very happy for me, but please – for the love of god – could I please stop moaning so loudly?

I didn’t wanted to admit that I was just putting my socks on.

@nivrig not sure it'll run on an *Amiga*?!? Must be missing something because a Speccy could pull this sort of isometric environment

What the fuck is SBAT, why did it break your dual-boot setup, it's not strictly my fault but if you need a scapegoat whatever: mjg59.dreamwidth.org/70348.htm

I've found a lot of conflicting and confusing reports about the #SecureBoot issue caused by a Microsoft update, so here's my relatively informed take about it.

Spoilers: this isn't an issue with GRUB, but with another less known bootloader called shim. GRUB can also be affected though. So let's talk about how the bootchain of a #Linux distro works and what happened to it. 🧵 1/11

Overall this is a huge mess. Secure Boot itself is not excessively complex - though it has a few moving parts some of which are not to my liking - but the combination of this complexity, Microsoft's de-facto monopoly and the inability to easily deploy user-provided keys made it a much bigger mess than it should have been. 11/11
