I've adorned my cassette emulator device with a hand whittled label. The top panel has some bumps from through-board solder pads, so nothing I can do about that. But overall it's alright, if you don't look too closely and/or judge too harshly.

I had a call with @kev and @mike yesterday. They took me through the admin workload and whoo. It's A LOT. It's seriously impressive how much they do in order to keep Fosstodon running, nice, and safe. They will stay on for a bit to help train successors. K&M THANK YOU again for all the hard work 👏👏👏

It's not going to be easy, and it will take a team, but it's doable. Immediately after this toot I'll post what I'll need and next steps! 1/2

WANTED: Intel Architecture Labs 1990’s CD-ROM’s. They appear to have maybe been monthly. They contained a mirror of Intel’s ‘download.intel.com’ ftp server, specifically the /ial/ subdirectory which is not in the 2014 backup of the site on archive.org.

Lots and lots of white papers and design guideline documents in there. Especially looking for ones from the late 1990’s (1998-ish onward) if they exist. I’ve seen references in mailing lists to them that lead me to believe they do.
Example gem: intel trying to cover its ass after the FDIV bug, and have some more FDIV

Just a quick update: I still intend on continuing Fosstodon and taking over admin tasks from @kev and @mike, together with some volunteers (more help is always welcome!). I spoke with K&M yesterday, they're very supportive of this. We have a longer meeting planned later this week.

I was a mod here a few years ago, so I have some insight in how things work. I'd like to keep things as is. I hope everyone will stay a bit longer while we work this out! 😊

I’m looking for a demo.

It’s for Windows, mentions running okay on a 780 ti. I think it’s a 64k; everything in it is procgen. Hell, maybe it’s a 4k demo.

Anyway, it’s a small radially-symmetric ship flying over a desert landscape. Emissives on the ship light up in time to the music. It flies into some fractal/procgen ruins that rise up out of the sand, etc.

Sound familiar to anyone? I can’t find it for the life of me.

#Mastodon is the only social media platform I've ever used where I don't feel a bit sick to my stomach before I check to see what's come in overnight.

We'll conclude, we suppose, with some sensible advice from history: don't put dead rabbits up your vagina and pretend to give birth to them. There's much less dangerous and embarrassing routes to fame.
