I'm searching for my boykisser pride flag that I forgot to remove on day 4. In the morning of day 5 it was already gone, and unfortunately L&F doesn't have it. It is marked with my name (bluemedia) and I would be thankful if it found its way back to me!

Boosts welcome :BoostOK:

#Breaking: several Asian cities report already being in the year 2026, in what is widely seen as rebuke of Trump’s “America First” policies.

Grok.

The others are all very short. This is the longest I've managed, and I think I like it the best, but oh christ what a bad time in the world to use THAT name. Oh well.

Some enby joy in this.

Huge Tusky news

I'll now start adding support for quote posts, which *should* be a breeze because the new code is way more maintainable than the old one.

And then it is time for a Tusky 2⁵ release 🥳

Does anyone know where KDE stores the result from using "calibrate tablet"? It generated some really bad calibrations and I need to delete them or something. I've giving Wayland another test and it's not going well.

edit: never, went back to X11 for the time being. I need some critical patches to land before settling in.

The Psychology of Flavor: Why Whiskey Tasting Is About More Than Taste

Whiskey appreciation is often mistaken for a simple sensory act, yet it is actually a complex cognitive process. Holy crap what a stat

'Between 2001 and 2014, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan cost the US an estimated $1.5 trillion to $1.7 trillion in direct spending. Global AI spending, according to Gartner, is forecast to reach nearly $1.5 trillion this year, putting today's AI boom in the same cash-burning league as two major wars.'

Follow up, 2025-12-27: Rudy here confirms the Blacksky appview is still being worked on (eg: blacksky uses bluesky's appview still)

The sticking point, as he describes it, is "backfill". This alludes to the issue that makes me compare ATProto to blockchain: to get the features users expect, every node on the network must mirror the network's entire history. This is impractical, which is why bluesky is as of this moment a federated network with effectively only one node.
