Been reliably told that we have had some "bites" for the #CFML Graduate Developer position at my place (The Case Centre, Milton Keynes/Bedford, UK). This is good! Not too late if you want to apply! #ukjobs

So Amazon have stopped any new users from using CodeCommit ☠️
Although I've not used it in years & not wanting to take them saying existing users are safe - time to archive the repo's I do have there, even if they are certainly obsolete, there might be stuff that's still useful historically 😞
How to migrate your AWS CodeCommit repository to another Git provider:
IEEE's MAC address allocations have a weird pricing structure.
If you want to buy a 12 (aka 4096 addresses), that's $855 one time (or $0.20 per MAC address).
However you can buy 20 bits of space (1Mil addresses) for $2,030 one time !, and 24 bits (16Mil) for $3,375 one time !
I somewhat question the desire to buy 4096 MAC addresses when 1 million is only around 2x the price.

@arclight @federico3 is it bad software engineering or is it a response to people running a multiplicity of operating systems and developers being tired of constantly being asked to troubleshoot dependency issues and version conflicts (including in their own dev machines)?
Facetimed my mom in Ottawa for a few minutes while I’m in Naples, so she could talk to her grandkids. Sent some pictures over email to friends I haven’t seen in a few years because something I saw reminded me of them.
It’s easy to forget this, but I’m old enough to remember when long distance calls meant five or ten bucks of voice only per minute, and when somebody left town they were just gone. As in “gone”, gone.
The internet is a miracle. It’s the flagship wonder of the modern world.
@GossiTheDog @eljefedsecurit Downloading something from a Google Search result is definitely downloading something from a "random untrusted source".
