Well, why not sponsor an up-front transparent contest to see who can generate the most lavish supreme gifts?
Just put Justice for Sale right out in the open.

Especially a neophyte or just an average user who wants a microwave oven with 5 self explanatory buttons, not a box of parts with an DYI instruction manual.

Incredibly, Twitter has now made it impossible for public safety bulletins to be posted automatically by weather services, tsunami warnings, the MTA etc. This is consistent with Musk’s particular lack of interest in public service. But it also highlights the general problem of building networks on private property - precisely why we need Mastodon and other open source apps to take their proper place at the center of our online communities

In one recent week I had two work colleagues drop by my office to explain that climate change is causing havoc in California and that we have a global biodiversity crisis.
I’m both happy they are talking about it and dismayed that it’s taken them 20 years to hear what I’ve been saying every day.
Am I ineffective or are they deaf?
It’s exhausting.

"Cry more, National Tsunami Warning Center" (???)

@RobertMaguire
Only a few NWS bots have mastodon accounts. Tsunami alerts isn’t one (yet).
Surely NWS has the capacity to set up its own MastoWeather sever for all their bots?
