Never mind the fact that they contribute a billion and a half to charity each year (mostly to help feed starving children). Lets just assume their evil because they are a big company, lol.

Bernie needs to get his act together, I sooooo want to vote for him but not when he says stuff like this.

@freemo That's not what is ridiculous. It's the fact that between walmart and amazon you've basically got a duopoly. Bernie needs to start talking trust busting, imho.

@Surasanji Well thats fair, But what is a monopoly, it has to be mroe than just being a large company right?

@freemo absolutely. It's about competition. Walmart and Amazon got where they are by being the best, but they also stifle healthy competition. Smaller businesses should be able to compete at least somewhat in the same fields.

@Surasanji I agree in principle but in practice how do you employ that aside from the ways we already do. Currently we have specific laws that make certain things illegal (such as large companies coordinating to do price matching with each other).

So what can we do that is new to achieve the goal you just specified?

Like so many problems it is one of those problems that sounds great in principle but is really hard to execute in practice.

@freemo There are people far better educated than me who will ultimately need to figure it out. The reason we vote and hire people to government is specifically make these decisions.

@Surasanji Thats fine, but so far Bernie doesnt seem to fit that bill or any politician. The last thing I would use to describe a politician is someone who is "far better educated than me"

@freemo That is a problem. Politicians should be elected by their merit to lead and protect the interest of the country and voter.

@Surasanji Agreed, that hasnt been true for a very long time in most countries, and marginally so in the others.

@freemo It's still absurd, but killing them wouldn't help. And it's not Bernie Sanders saying to kill them. A violent revolution is dangerous to all, and often just yields a dictatorship worse than the old regime.

@hendrikboom3 I think you missed the point. "Kill them " is a reference to WWII where the rich class (mostly jews) were seen as evil, ultimately leading to their extermination (the jews, who were seen as the kingpins of the rich).

The absurdity is on Bernie for inciting the same biggotry we already went through a generation ago.

@freemo @hendrikboom3 jews are evil for other reasons other than just being rich. and they were never exterminated only moved to israel
