@Meachamus_Prime Huh? did someone claim the victim lacked compassion or was that a general statement?
"But y'all too busy laughing at..."
@Meachamus_Prime I'm confused, how does laughing at the victim show that the victim lacks compassion?
@Meachamus_Prime Both are victims of different things. Victimhood is hardly mutually exclusive. One generation's victim often becomes the abuser as well as a consequence of that victimhood creating more victims.
@Meachamus_Prime Oh you mean YOU being the victim of your fathers abuse... Sorry I see what you meant now.
Yea taking away the drug is good, laughing at them isnt, but sadly that will rarely address the underlying problem as with most psychological disorders. The drug, afterall, isnt the problem its the symptom.
True, but while the drug is artificially taking away the pain, the abuser has no impetus to learn to deal with the pain. It's simple path of least resistance.
@Meachamus_Prime No doubt, the drug eases the pain they deal with, and while it does create other more serious issues it is still a self reinforcing cycle.
@papya While I am all for making all drugs legal I cant say I support the idea that crack cocaine can be an effective drug. It isnt. But i support legalization of drugs simple because people have a right to have full control over what they put in their own body.
@freemo
My alcoholic father never beat me when he was sober. Taking the drug away from the abuser is more compassionate than claiming the victims lack compassion. We are not laughing. We just understand the situation better.
