@freemo IMO, yes. It's great if you're into building and resource management games with the possibility of disaster, and it has a lot of depth with the tech system, trading, etc. The art style might put you off, and the characters can be a little frustrating when they don't do what you tell them to do. Other than that, I thought it was well worth the price. Haven't played the new version yet, though.
